FDR’s New Deal is well remembered as a seminal moment in US history, not only because it changed government’s role in daily lives of its citizens, but also because it epitomized Roosevelt’s connection with the common man and his desire to help Americans emerge from the Great Depression. For this post, consider the so-called “Green” New Deal. If you are not familiar with it (though it was a hot topic during the last presidential election and remains an item on the ‘progressive’ agenda), do a little. reading on it and express your opinion on it, related to FDR’s programs. Do you think it merits the title of “New Deal”? What is your opinion on its proposed programs and goals? Is its intentions similar to FDR’s desire to assist the common American? What do you think?
